Learning by Design: Meet Our Summer Interns

Fresh perspectives have officially joined the studio! This summer, we're excited to welcome Coley and Isabelle to the Maple & White Design team. Their talent, enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to jump into every opportunity have made them wonderful additions to our studio. We’re delighted to play a role in their professional growth as they explore the world of interior design.

Just a few weeks into the summer, Coley and Isabelle have already become valued members of our team - we don’t know how we have managed without them!  On any given day, you can find them creating social media posts, drafting for new projects, running vital errands, and assisting with styling current projects. They’ve also gotten valuable client-facing experience assisting with project presentations, sitting in on client and vendor meetings, and helping us bring spaces to life on install days and photoshoots.

We recently caught up with Coley and Isabelle to hear about their experience so far. Here’s what they had to say:

What have you learned as a summer intern at Maple & White Design?

Coley: "I have loved getting to work in a bustling environment where not only does everyone on the team have great taste, but also is extremely detail-oriented and focused on the client experience. Seeing how Maple & White works internally and with clients has been extremely helpful in my understanding of the client-to-designer dynamic that has been so hard to grasp in my design classes."

What inspired you to apply for an internship at Maple & White Design?

Coley: "I was eager to find an opportunity with a high-end organization that takes pride in quality and professionalism, which can be difficult to find locally. Maple & White stood out immediately as the perfect fit for what I was looking for.”

Isabelle: "I was drawn to Maple & White Design because of its attention to detail and the acrobat-like  flexibility each project requires. Maple & White was also attractive because of its smaller size; I wanted to get close and personal with how creative women ran a successful and expanding business.”

Why do you think internships are important?

Isabelle: "It's important for students to work with clients so they engage with a different set of design limitations than they would in a classroom."

We believe one of the most rewarding parts of our work is investing in the next generation of designers. We're grateful for everything Coley and Isabelle have contributed this summer and look forward to watching where their careers take them. We can't wait to see what they accomplish next!
