From Design to Delivery: The Details Behind a Turnkey Home
A finished space is the final step in a carefully managed process: from design and ordering to receiving, storage, and installation. Design: Maple & White Design; Photography: Traci Shupert
A beautifully designed home takes far more than well-chosen furnishings. Behind every finished room is months of planning, ordering, tracking, receiving and coordinating. Those details can get especially complex when you're building new construction, renovating, or furnishing a second home from afar.
At Maple & White Design, we consider those details part of the design process.
Our full-service interior design approach carries a project from the earliest design decisions through final installation. One important part of that process is something clients may never see: our private furniture receiving and storage warehouse, located right at our South Bend, Indiana design studio.
More Than a Place to Store Furniture
For most projects, furniture, lighting, rugs, artwork, and accessories may arrive over many months from dozens of different, trusted vendors.
Rather than relying on a third-party receiving company, Maple & White receives these pieces directly at our own warehouse. Our team inspects items carefully as they arrive, allowing us to identify any damage or inconsistencies immediately and work directly with vendors to resolve issues. Furnishings are then securely stored until the home is ready for installation.
For our clients, keeping this process in-house has two important advantages: it helps minimize both cost and the potential for damage. Eliminating a third-party receiving warehouse means fewer handling and transportation charges, and fewer times a piece needs to be moved, loaded, and unloaded before reaching its final destination.
It also gives our team greater control over the entire process, from the time an item arrives until it is placed in your home.
From Construction Complete to Move-In Ready
For clients who are building or renovating, timing matters. Construction schedules shift, products have long lead times, and a home can be technically "finished" well before it feels ready to live in.
That's why our new construction interior design process starts early. We order furnishings well ahead of time, store them until installation and work closely with builders and other project partners. When the home is ready, our team provides white-glove delivery and installation, handling assembly, placement and styling, and we take the packaging with us when we leave.
The goal is simple: you walk into a turnkey home that feels complete.

Plan Ahead for a Seamless Finish
How long does it take to furnish a new home? Thoughtful, full-service design can take time. For new construction, major renovations and whole-home furnishing projects, we recommend reaching out well before your target completion date.
Starting early gives us time to develop the design, coordinate with project partners, place orders with enough lead time and have every piece inspected and waiting when the home is ready.
At Maple & White Design, full-service design means managing both the beautiful details you see and the countless details you don't. From the first design decision to the last piece in place, our goal is to make creating your home feel seamless, wherever you happen to live.
